Salon du Livre – Paris Book Show

Hotels Maurice Hurand present the Salon du Livre (Paris Book Show).

Every year at the start of spring, the Salon du Livre (Paris Book Show) enables authors and their readers to meet at the Parc des Expositions at the Porte de Versailles in Paris.
Some 1,200 publishers and 3,000 authors present their new books at the show. Resolutely modern and more open in its architecture, the Show keeps up with the changes in the world of books, notably with the Manga Village and La Place des Livres (Book Square). These areas are new showcases for publishing trends. At the Manga Village, books, derived products, events, Japanese and drawing lessons, meetings with authors and manga culture quizzes are on the programme. La Place des Livres (Book Square) holds 40 debates and meetings with young talents, reflecting the latest news in the book world.
Authors also sign their books for the pleasure of their admirers.

In 2009, Mexican literature will be honoured from 13 to 18 March. The Ambassador of Mexico in Paris, Mr Carlos de Icaza, has pointed out that Mexico publishes more than 100,000 titles a year and has a great literary tradition.
