Christmas Markets are a tradition and we wander through them starting in early December for the pleasure of getting into the Christmas spirit. You can find everything, especially craftwork. Some markets have original gift ideas by creators. In any case, they are a tradition and these Christmas Markets give Paris magic, lively colours and a warm ambiance.
In the heart of the Latin Quarter, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, Father Christmas’s village sets up at Place Saint Sulpice just behind Hotel Madison. The market spreads out its surprises around the Quatre Evêques Fountain, built in 1844. Some of France’s regions are mixed in here and there with treasures from the rest of the world.
The Maison de l’Alsace is a must before the holidays, with mulled wine, Christmas tea and gingerbread. This renowned Christmas Market offers taste treats and decorations to give gifts from Alsace (39 Avenue des Champs-Elysées, Paris 8th).
The Maison du Limousin organises its own Christmas Market and invites you to discover its selected products: honeys and chocolates, gourmet preserves, jams, foie gras, Le Creusois cakes, fruit jellies, liqueurs and aperitifs, straw wine, chestnuts and condiments, etc. The Christmas Market also presents a selection of objects in Limoges porcelain, enamels and fine books (30 rue de Caumartin, Paris 9th).
The largest Christmas Market is no doubt at the Esplanade de la Défense, starting on 28 November. You will find a full selection for buying your gifts, but also for decorating your home, not to mention the best products for a Christmas meal worthy of the name | |||||||
