The family history began in 1909 when Edmond Hurand bought land located on the hill of Montmartre, on the corner of Rue Joseph de Maistre and Rue Caulaincourt. In 1911, a hotel with 120 rooms and a terrace on the roof opened its doors and the Terrass'' Hotel was born. Edmond Hurand would then sell and buy back the hotel in 1923, under pressure from his son Maurice. The Terrass'' Hotel has remained in the family ever since.
In 1985 the family bought the Madison Hotel, an iconic address in Saint-Germain-des-Près. Then, in 1991, the Bourgogne & Montana Hotel, a superb 16th-century hotel opposite the National Assembly. In 1994 Jean-Max Hurand's daughter Christine and her husband Jean-Luc Binet took over the family business. In 2004, the Artus Hotel joined the collection, followed by the Buci Hotel in 2006. Both located on the Rue de Buci, these two addresses embody a new style of hotel. And in 2005 the Maurice Hurand Hotel Group was born. A group which manages, builds and develops synergy between these different Parisian addresses.
Today it is the turn of their children Marion Laroche, Emilie Arabyan and Romain Binet to carry on the family tradition...
Working with an external organisation, all of the group's hotels are committed to a quality assurance policy built on maintenance of high standards through mystery visits and calls.
This process makes it possible to assess the levels of service expected and delivered, and to diagnose areas for improvement to ensure that our quality of service is always improving.
The environment is an important element for hospitality stakeholders. Resolutely focused on the future and the challenges of the third millennium, the Maurice Hurand Hotels Group works hard to ensure respect for the environment by making sustainable development one of its primary focuses.
This strong and continually-updated commitment draws on the group's own Sustainable Development Charter.
